Reliance – Technical Consultancy services for Bulk Salt movement from Kutch region to Dahej Manufacturing Division

    • Study and propose the availability of Rail sidings at Origin and destination for salt movement.
    • Evaluate capability of the area at Origin to handle large volume.
    • Asses rail traffic enroute and determine rail traffic / congestion / restrictions / developments impacting continuity of daily salt movement rakes.
    • Study the impact of corrosion on rail wagons / handling equipment. Recommend the structure (spec.) & coating (like epoxy) required for utilising the assets for its life span.
    • Solution recommended should support operations by rake during the life cycle of asset.
    • Design should ensure the asset utilization across seasons, taking into consideration the impact on all assets salt is exposed to.
    • Recommend ideal Rake Type and design of wagon for safe, faster turnaround with long term sustainability.
    • Ensure as a part of design zero spill of SALT in the rail leg.
    • Propose the best handling methodology of wagon covering : – least turn around time , minimum salt spill into tracks (securing product from all sides during transit), transfer / conveying salt from unloading to storage to location for Brine Mix.
    • Area requirement at destination will cover rake siding with handling area, storage of 1 month long consumption and area of 5 acres for Brine plant.
    • Survey and recommend the ideal siding / location storing 1,80,000 mt (1 month consumption) salt, material handling equipment’s & site for brine mix.
    • Recommended options should be techno-commercially suitable. Establish the least cost end to end logistic option to handle the product.
    • Output should indicate the availability / lead time of supply in case of new assets / quantum of execution assets, taking into consideration the IR variables / weather impact. Basis the input, decision on capex / de-risking will be taken.
    • Detailed study on railway policies covering impact on cost to operate and risk to regular supply should be covered.
    • Explore of old IR wagons are available that can re-tasked for moving SALT meeting the set requirements.
    • Study Bulk vs. Containerised movement, recommend best techno- commercial option.
