Railway Consultancy Services of Private Railway Siding at Kalmeshwar Works Facility taking off from Kalmeshwar Railway Station of Nagpur Division in Central Railway

• Carried out desktop study and studied the railway connectivity from the nearest serving station and assess the techno-economic feasibility of the railway connectivity;
• Carried out site inspection by a multi-disciplinary team comprising of traffic/ transportation, Civil, Electrical and Signalling Engineering;
• Studied and marked possible railway alignments (2 Nos) to connect existing IR network and proposed plant on Google imagery/ topo sheets;
• Conducted foot by foot reconnaissance survey along the proposed alignments, checked various geographical features and assessed required modifications on alignment as per site conditions;
• Prepared conceptual plan for railway siding take-off point or the junction arrangement duly assessing grades;
• Prepared block cost estimates (approximate cost) for earth work, bridges, track, OHE, signalling and miscellaneous civil works;
• Discussed proposed alignment alternatives with the Client and recommend best option based on preliminary assessment;
• Prepared and submitted Pre-feasibility Study Report for railway connectivity to JSWSCPL.
• Designed Junction arrangements at serving railway station/take-off point to handle JSWSCPL’s projected volume of inward/outward traffic expeditiously and economically;
• Scrutinized in-plant railway yard layout and proposed modifications in consultation with JSWSCPL;
• Carried out detailed route survey from serving railway station to proposed JSWSCPL’s site along selected route and also studied ground levels enroute to assess terrain;
• Collected and studied detailed longitudinal and transverse levels along the alignment;
• Conducted survey of water courses for computation of flood discharge including fixing exact location of bridges on the alignment for proper drainage;
• Fixed benchmarks at 500m intervals along the railway line to facilitate checks during construction work;
• Designed horizontal and vertical alignment of the rail infrastructure;
• Finalized railway alignment and in-plant rail infrastructure facilities in consultation with JSWSCPL;
• Designed system of working and manpower requirement, and prepared guidelines for traffic movement in the railway siding;
• Prepared and submitted Detailed Project Report to railway authorities along with detailed estimates including quantum of excavation/PCC/RCC/levelling/back-filling and other related civil activities;
• Prepared BOQ of mechanical services & procurement of rail/sleepers/clamps etc.
• Prepared drawings of Civil, Electrical and Signalling as applicable and covering various railway related requirements of the siding;
• Prepared Engineering Scale Plan and L-section for the project as per IR Standards and obtained approval for the same from Railways;
• Prepared Signalling Schematic Plan, OHE Sectioning-cum-Wiring Diagram as per IR Standards and obtained approval for the same from Railways
